Una trama ricca di colpi di scena e di suspense, in cui un’investigatrice indaga su due casi di omicidio, avvenuti a distanza di tre mesi l’uno dall’altro; si ipotizza un serial killer, ma si dovrà fare anche i conti con un passato che si crede già alle spalle e che torna prepotentemente a bussare.
La protagonista, Meredith, capisce che, ad un certo punto, bisogna attraversare il dolore per raggiungere la meta. A fare da sfondo, la parte più impervia e incontaminata dell’Irlanda del Nord, dove il faro di Fanad Head Lighthouse veglia con il suo occhio luminoso.
Molti sono gli elementi disseminati lungo la storia, in cui troviamo improvvise tirate e misteri celati.
La narrazione diventa uno strumento non solo per raccontare le fragilità umane, la sofferenza, la vulnerabilità, ma per dar voce al dolore e prenderne coscienza per superarlo.
